The beach here is flat and wide, providing a great arena for beach football and Frisbee. The bottom slopes gradually, so children without exceptional swimming skill can still play safely in the water. Shore-breaking waves can be large so exercise caution. Several showers make clearning yourself and your gear easy. If you want to have fun without the sand, head back across a boardwalk to the parking lot. On the north edge sits two full basketball courts and two volleyball nets. Since this is a public beach, visitors must bring their own balls to use the facilities. Also in this area are several barbeque grills and picnic tables. It’s hard to think of a better way to spend a beautiful summer day then grilling hamburgers and playing in the water. But of course allow time for digestion, perhaps by taking a snooze on the sand.
