What first began in 1990, as a thought strolling through her head, eventually became a fully formed literary creation for unemployed single mother J. K. Rowling. The image of the boy that popped into her mind over a decade ago has not only made Rowling the richest woman in Britain (richer than the Queen even), it has become a worldwide phenomenon.

Fans from all over the world have read the Harry Potter books. Surprising to some, in addition to sparking great interest for children, Harry Potter has grabbed the attention of many adults as well.

Not everyone is a fan of J. K. Rowling or her Harry Potter series however. Some critics attack her writing style, her ideas, and her intentions. Some have even gone as far as attackers the readers and fans of the series.

Over the last decade, Harry Potter has evolved from a character in the mind of an author, to becoming her first published book(s) and is presently a household name. From video games and audiotapes, to figures and even movies, Harry Potter is everywhere.

The Internet is a good place to look for everything ‘Harry Potter’. From Role Playing Games (RPGs) and message boards, to complex fan listings and endless fan fiction, Harry Potter is definitely more than just a thought.
