Common Grounds Coffee House

The Common Grounds Coffeehouse, 919 W. University Ave. Gainesville, Fla., has been a part of the Downtown music scene in Gainesville for almost 10 years. After undergoing some interior renovations, a name change and an ownership switch in 1996, the venue quickly became a staple for local musicians to perform at. Mike Alligood, guitarist for the band Bracelet, said the Common Grounds is a good place for new and old performers to work through their material. He said it is also a good place to try new material out on an appreciative crowd.

There is live entertainment almost every night of the week and the shows start around 10:30 p.m. For more information on all things relating to Common Grounds, visit their Web site, http://www.cgcoffeehouse.com/. It is updated regularly with show dates and times. The site also offers a compilation of new and old musicians who have performed at Common Grounds in the past.
