The Irish have a standard meal on Christmas that consists of turkey, ham, stuffing and cranberry sauce. They also have a spiced beef that is prepared several days beforehand and can be served hot or cold, as well as mince pies and Christmas pudding. January 6 is the “Feast of Epiphany,” or “Little Christmas,” and the official end of the season in Ireland. Yet another feast is held and the Christmas decorations are taken down.
