The film world is exploding with the advent of affordable DV cameras. In the early 90ís a number of companies pooled their resources and technology to develop a new digital video format. In 1995 their efforts paid off with the new Digital Video Cassette (DVC) format, which was later called DV. Since then the number of filmmakers has grown almost exponentially. The low cost as compared to film, the ease of use, availability, and the quality all contribute to DVís success. Now almost anyone can be a filmmaker.
