Get Carded Campaign

Get Carded is a student run public relations campaign that promotes organ and tissue donation awareness. It was founded on the University of Florida campus in spring 2002. This campaign dives into the public relation world using its values to make it successful.

The Get Carded campaign can also be seen at the University of Central Florida, Florida Atlantic University and the University of South Florida.

Special Events
Get Carded uses special events to make the education part of organ and tissue donation fun and interesting. Through the events it gives people a visual of what it means to be a donor and provides information to them about organ and tissue donation. The special events are a great publicity tool used to reach the target audience.

    Media Relations
    Get Carded uses media press release to give a heads up to different newspapers and television stations so they can be present at the events. During donation week in May 2002, the Gainesville Sun, the Alligator, GatorTimes and news stations covered all the events.

    Get Carded uses research to educate its members to keep them up-to-date on all the latest statistics and information. Also research is used when creating surveys about the knowledge of others. By providing the best information possible to the Get Carded participants, they can then in turn educate the campus on organ and tissue donation.
