God Only Knows
(Brian Wilson, Tony Asher)

The eighth track on the album was the first song to be released with the word "God" in the title.
It was also different in that it was a love song, yet began with the words "I may not always love you."
The instrumental track was recorded in March of 1966. The vocals were recorded between March and April of 1966.
It was released as a b-side to "Wouldn't It Be Nice" in August of 1966 and peaked at #39.

Carl Wilson sang lead vocals.
