What is Agricultural Marketing?

Generally defined, marketing is the act or process of purchasing and selling goods. So, to simply define agricultural marketing you could label it as the act or process of purchasing and selling agricultural goods. But in today's world it is not that simple.

Agricultural marketing has to do with not only promoting the buying and selling of goods but also promoting the industry as a whole. This is especially true in Florida where the importance and worth of agriculture is overshadowed by travel and tourism and other rapidly growing industries.

Florida-farmers.com states that agriculture in the state of Florida is facing many challenges. Urban sprawl, foreign competition, and increased environmental restrictions are making farmers' lives difficult.

So, not only do Florida farmers have to market their goods and services, they also have to market or promote the cause of their entire industry.
