Congratulations! You found me!
I guess I'll tell you a little about myself. My parents enjoy telling me that my birthday, August 7, 1979 was the hottest day of the year. All I can guarantee is that I was born in Monroe, Wis. -- and I stayed there for a week -- until my parents took me home to Illinois. The village of Warren was my new home (it's a town known for its cheese). Two years later, my brother Arend was born, disrupting my life as an only child. Soon our family moved to Freeport, Ill. where my youngest brother Spencer was born -- two years after Arend. When I was 5, my father got a new job, and just before my 6th birthday, we moved to Lakeland, Fla. My birthday present was a trip to SeaWorld that summer. During the three-and-a-half years that my family lived in Florida, I did all the normal kid stuff -- rode my bike to school, fought with Arend, played in the backyard -- but, most of my memories are sporadic until the 4th grade. That's when my father's job transferred him to Washington, D.C. We settled 50 miles south of Washington in Stafford County. But, our mailing address is the city of Fredericksburg, so I adopted it as my official hometown. Transferring in the middle of the school year is always a joy, particularly when you are the 3rd Sarah in the class -- but, I survived and began to make friends. My family didn't move again, which meant my brothers and I were lucky enough to have more traditional childhoods. School was good, friends were better -- I really did have a classic childhood -- ballet, church, friends, school, drama, after-school jobs, the old family car, high school boyfriend -- people create sitcom characters based on that lifestyle. I better wrap this up, I am rambling and this is boring. I chose the University of Florida because it has one of the best communication programs in the country. Along the way, I have met some amazing people and made some fantastic friends. I am graduating in May with two degrees -- Public Relations and Journalism. I am interested in working in the exciting world of politics or editing copy at a regular newspaper. All I know is that I have two degrees that almost span the spectrum of modern communications, and I will eventually fall into something I love. I can promise that I will leave the Sunshine State for a place that has four distinct seasons. If you aren't completely bored with me, look around a little...
