Journalist and Photographer
I am a 21-year-old junior studying journalism at the University of Florida.
I aspire to be a magazine writer, but I also would love to have a career in photojournalism or reporting.
I grew up in Dunnellon, Fla. While living there, I was able to experience the comfort and familiarity that comes with growing up in a small town. As a child I had a knack for writing and storytelling, but when I came to UF I decided to pursue a degree that focused on medicine.
Initially I majored in applied physiology and kenisiology, but I knew that my talents were best suited elsewhere. After two years as an APK major I switched my major to journalism and have thoroughly enjoyed every class I have taken thereafter.
I have since learned how to edit audio, video and pictures, developed interviewing and reporting skills, and have become a seasoned writer.
As Ben Franklin once said, "Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing."
