I am a Telecommunications major with a minor in Business Administration. My ideal job is to work for a small organization, combining multiple positions into one communications coordinator. The media and society track, which is part of the Telecommunications major, affords me flexibility in choosing from public My husband and I in front of the Journalism building.relations, advertising and journalism courses as alternates for some of the general degree requirements. This will prepare me to effectively manage all forms of communication for a small business.


The Independent Florida Alligator

Writing for the Alligator was one of the highlights of my college experience. As a contributing writer, I worked closely with the freelance editor on each of my stories to improve my writing skills and gain a better understanding of the industry. After three months I was hired as a staff writer to cover the student government beat. I learned how to follow parliamentary procedure during a Senate meeting and manage a live Twitter feed while constructing an article on deadline. I learned to be concise, unbiased and, above all, accurate: traits I will continue to employ at every professional juncture.

Awards and Leadership


Me playing Gertrude McFuzz in a production of Suessical the Musical. I spent all four years of high school enrolled in the Buchholz High School Academy of Entrepreneurship. The Academy is a magnet program where I learned the components of a business plan, marketing, management and innovation. I also participated in DECA competitions where I placed at the state level three years in a row. In 2008 I won Best Presentation in the UF Go-Venture Business Competition based on a business plan I wrote for a coffee shop and music venue.


I was an active thespian in high school and hope to return to the local theatre this summer. I won the Carson-Gets Award at the Hippodrome State Theatre for my dedication to the Buchholz drama program in 2009, as well as an Excellent in playwriting at the 2006 International Thespian Society District Festival.
