A little bit about me...
Welcome to Pappa's Domain. Why "Pappa" you ask? Well that's me of course! Michael Pappa, at your service.
I'm currently a Junior at the University of Florida (UF) majoring in Journalism. I just started at UF this year (2012) and I love it so far. The professors are great and the atmosphere is very stimulating.
One day I would love to write for a technology reporting agency like CNET, TechCrunch or the likes. I've been a techno-geek my whole life and I'm known as "the nerd" by all of my friends.
One of My Idols
One of the biggest influences in my life is actor, writer, and activist, Michael J. Fox. His optimism towards life is so strong, it shines through in everything he does.
He has Parkinson's Disease (PD), and he claims that his diagnosis with the disease wasn't a bad thing, but a blessing. He goes into detail in both of his books Lucky Man: A Memoir and Always Looking Up: The Adventures of an Incurable Optimist. I suggest you read them both, as they are both filled with great stories.
The image to the right is from May of 2011. I went to a lecture given by Michael J. Fox at Southern Connecticut State University. I was lucky enough to get my picture taken with him prior to the lecture. I stick out well in this picture; I'm the one in the bright orange shirt.
