What do I do?

My story made the front page.

I work at The Independent Florida Alligator as a general assignment campus reporter. This means I write stories about everything from Quidditch and gay marriage to Google Books and ROTC. This variation in assignments keeps my week interesting. My schedule is packed trying to coordinate interviews with deans, collect student opinions and fact check statistics.

I'm also an editor for LiveMusicGuide.com. Each week, I edit three writers' stories before they are posted on the website. I correct grammar, fix spelling mistakes and suggest changes to the writers' content. I also write one story of my own each week.

My notes can get messy.

Here on campus, I'm the blog editor for Her Campus UFL, which is an online magazine for the collegiate woman. I edit the blog posts for a group of 10 girls before the stories are posted to the website.

Of course, I take a slew of journalism classes when I'm not on the job. My major is journalism, and my minor is art history. My 13 credit hours keep me busy. My Spring 2012 list of courses is below.
