Since childhood, Disney World has been my favorite place. My family didn't travel much when I was growing up, but whenever we did it was either to South Florida to see my grandma or to go to Disney World. As a result, Disney World holds many great memories for me. To me it truly is the happiest place on earth.
The World Showcase: The showcase is home to pavilions that represent 11 countries: Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Italy, United States, Japan, Morocco, France, United Kingdom and Canada. These pavilions wrap around the World Showcase Lagoon which is the location of a nightly fireworks display at 9 p.m. The showcase is a great place to experience many different cultures. Each pavilion offers a restaurant, some form of show or ride, and products and employees native to that country. This gives you an opportunity to learn about these countries from people who actually live there.
Spaceship Earth: Each theme park is represented by a towering object. However, the Epcot symbol, what appears to be a giant golf ball, is the only one that is also a ride. Spaceship Earth is a slow moving ride that depicts the history of man's technological development. This is my favorite ride in all of Disney World because of the amazing visuals that Disney has created to let passengers experience our world since the dawn of time. Don't pass this ride up in your rush to the fast ones!
Space Mountain: A must ride for everyone. This is a great ride for people looking to kick that roller coaster fear. A single-car ride set in the dark depths of space with lights flying by, it's a great time for people of all ages. It's a fast ride but the drops are mild and there are no flips.
Mickey's PhilharMagic: This 3D show brings many of Disney's characters togeher in a performance full of music and laughs that I can watch over and over again.
The Great Movie Ride: A slow moving ride that takes you into some of Hollywood's greatest films including The Wizard of Oz, Casablanca, Singin' in the Rain, Tarzan, Indiana Jones and many others. If you're a movie buff like myself, this is the ride for you. Be ready for some unexpected surprises along the way because anything can happen in the movies!
Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater: If you're looking for a place to sit and eat after walking the park for hours, this is the place to go. The typical tables and chairs have been turned into cars at a drive-in movie. The ceiling above is a twinkling sky and clips from old sci-fi movies and drive-in commercials play on a big screen. Not to mention the menu is diverse and delicious.
Expedition Everest: The search for the Yeti is on. This roller coaster ride up the mountain and then backwards down is a thrill and the best ride in Animal Kingdom.
