My Professional Profile
Currently, I work as a Competitive Sports Graduate Assistant in the Department of Recreational Sports. I started in my position in July 2010 after working for four years in the Department of Recreational Sports at The Ohio State University.
During my time at these two universities, I have had the opportunity to work in some unique events. I have officiated three Intramural National Championships including two Flag Football National Championships in New Orleans, LA and one Basketball National Championship in Detroit, MI held in conjunction with the NCAA Final Four. I have also been part of the tournament personnel for three Ohio High School Athletic Association State Wrestling Tournaments, served on the Title IX Committee for Intercollegiate Athletics here at the University of Florida, and was the PA announcer in Nationwide Arena (Home of the Columbus Blue Jackets of the NHL) for an Intramural Championship ice hockey game.
As I continue to pursue professional opportunities as graduation approaches, I take the stance that everyday you should strive to learn something new. I attribute this to a common ideal that you either get better or get worse, but there is no staying the same. I find that if you do not make an effort to learn more and make yourself more marketable for what you want to do then you are in fact becoming a less suitable candidate each day.
