Q: So, what type of journalism strikes your fancy?

A: As I said on other pages, I've been all over the place and studied many different types of journalism during my time at UF. I really have taken an interest in feature writing as opposed to your daily, run-of-the-mill hard news (but, who wouldn't?) I loved the magazine classes that I've taken and I think it would be great to work for a magazine, (but only one that informs with meaningful stuff.) Anywhere that I can go cool places and see cool things. I had a great time in Ireland interviewing all the local people for my travel reporting class. You can tell by our awesome wall photo on the Aran Islands at left. I also chose editing as my capstone because I have always had a knack for it.
Ingrid Michaelson!

Q: Who are your favorite musical artists?

A: When most people say that they like "everything," they usually have a few exceptions. I don't. I like everything from rap to rock, country to heavy metal. I'll give anything a listen once. But my favorites are Ingrid Michaelson, John Mayer, and Matchbox 20. "Smooth Listening" type of stuff.

Q: What are your hidden talents?

A: I was born with a crooked pinky, so I can make it "dance" in a weird way. You'd be surprised how many awkward "fun fact" introductions that's gotten me out of. I can also play the piano, spin flags, rifles, and baton, and crack basically every joint in my body.

Q: How do you feel about reality television?

A: As similar to most people, it's my guilty pleasure. But I HATE the Jersey Shore. I'm much more partial to Real Housewives of _______. Or that Tabitha hair salon show. corps

Q: What are you most proud of?

A: I'm so grateful for my experiences in drum and bugle corps. I was a member of the color guard in the Boston Crusaders and Spirit of JSU, and it's a really worthwhile experience. You can see a lovely picture of my on tour trying to play the marimba at left. It didn't work out so well.

Do you have a favorite quote?

A: I'm so glad you asked! Several, actually: "We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned, so as to live the life that is waiting for us." - E.M. Forster
"I am always doing that which I cannot do, in order that I may learn how to do it." -Pablo Picasso
"Everybody has a secret world inside of them. All of the people of the world, I mean everybody. No matter how dull and boring they are on the outside, inside them they've all got unimaginable, magnificent, wonderful, stupid, amazing worlds. Not just one world. Hundreds of them. Thousands maybe." - Neil Gaiman
