Home is truly on the range for me. I grew up on a farm in Southeastern Colorado. I attended the same country public school for 13 years. People tell me that it's not normal to have had only two other seniors in my graduating class! With such a small pool of available bodies, I was an active member of most extracuricular activities. In addition, I was a ten-year 4-H member and the International Flying Farmer Teen president.
My brother led me to Texas Tech, where he was a varsity football player. The college of agriculture told me they would give me a scholarship and waive my out-of-state tuition if I declared my major as agricultural communications. I took them up on it and have had no regrets since. It was the definitely the place for me to be during my college years. I will always cherish my days in Lubbock, Texas and will treasure the friendships started there even more.
My parents and I made the trek to Florida in a one-way U-Haul. Already, the experience of being on my own has made me mature in ways I could not have imagined a year ago. God is Good!
