Port on the Golden Horizon

Where Will the Four Winds Blow Me?

Now, I reside in the quaint Southern town of Gainesville, Florida as a work diligently towards a Master's Degree in International Journalism with a focus in Latin America and the Caribbean here at the College of Journalism and Communications of the University of Florida.

I have recently applied for a Fellowship to study Portuguese in Rio de Janiero, Brazil this summer, and am waiting to find out if I will once again be blown by the winds of fortune towards a new adventure. Eventually, I plan to integrate my travel and language experiences with a fine-tuned journalistic and New Media style to become a foreign correspondent worthy of representing the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean.

Electronic Media-The Wave of the Future

As a visitor to this site, you are likely already familiar with the the Internet and its growing culture. As a journalist in training, so to speak, I believe that knowledge of the Internet will be an integral part of tomorrow's media arena, both locally and globally.

This semester, I am taking Dave Carlson's Survey of Electronic Publishing class. Voila! This personal Web page is the final product of an HTML (HyperText Mark-up Language) design assignment that we were to complete as part of the class cirriculum. As a result, the entire world can take a look at Sarah Hyde, amateur Web designer!
