If you ever find yourself traveling in Spain, you will have a chance to take part in many traditions. Spain hosts a variety of festivals year round, so try to catch one if you can!

Must-See's in Spain

In regards to Spanish festivals, Las Fallas is by far my favorite. This festival takes place the first weekend of March in Valencia. The city streets are full of extravagant statues made of wood and paper mache. At the end of the festival, the statues all go up in flames. Visit the fallas website to learn more about this great Spanish tradition. Another interesting cultural spectacle is the Sardana dance in Barcelona. This is the national dance of Catalunya, something that the locals see as a symbol of unity and pride. People of ages gather to perform the dance at the Catedral de Barcelona on Sunday afternoons.
