I love to travel. I love to go places. I love to see things. I love the aggravation of not being home, yet the excitement of being away. I love to meet different people and taste different things. I love different climates and different accents. I just like to go.

One of my favorite places is Alaska. Now, while I'm a Southern girl at heart, fully fond of Florida's humidity and heat, I couldn't get enough of the cold, dry air of Alaska. I couldn't get over how the culture, the people, the language and how good my hair looked the majority of the time.

While I was there, I was pulled by an actual Iditarod sled dog team through the freezing rain, walked on the Dawes Glacier in Skagway, rode a train up through White Pass into Canada and sailed the Inside Passage back to Washinton. Unfortunately however, though I saw killer whales, eagles, and bear, I didn't see Russia. Sorry Sarah.

During the summer of 2007, I went on a trip to Europe. It was a school chartered 17-day, 6 country kind of trip that had us blazing through each country left and right, but it was a trip to Europe nonetheless. I would have to say Germany and Switerzland were my favorite places. The people were a unique bunch, but you just can't replace cultural immersion. It makes me wonder what people think about us when they come here....

My goal is to visit all 50 states by the time I'm 50. 50 for 50. Seems plausible enough. I'm not sure about countries, but Spain and Australia are definitely on the list.
