Sports Writing in the Alligator

Here are a few of the stories I have written during my time as a writer at the Alligator. I did not include every story I have written, as that would take up far too much space even given the relatively small amount of time I have been writing for the paper. Instead, I chose a few of my favorite stories:

My first article in print, a story about the UF Ultimate Frisbee Club Team.

Probably my most memorable lead to date, as it involved a cross country runner going most of the race without one of her shoes.

My first feature story, a piece about senior runner Jeremy Criscione and all the adversity he overcame to achieve the success he did.

My second cross country feature story; I wrote this story (about runner Genevieve LaCaze) and the Criscione feature simultaneously, but they turned out so markedly different in nearly every way, from the method I used to introduce the story to the overall feel.

My men's basketball sidebar about the Gators' unbelievable outside shooting in their dominating win over Vanderbilt on the road.

My feature on Ali Gardiner that I wrote before the softball season started.

The advance for the season-opener of the 2009 softball season.
