I was born on Nov. 28, 1987 in Titusville, Fla. When I was about 8 years old I moved to Tavares, Fla. Growing up, I was a competitive gymnast and trained about 20 hours a week. I traveled the state as well as the country, including Las Vegas and Chicago, for competitions. Unfortunately, I was forced to retire when I was 16 due to chronic injuries. I graduated in 2006 from Tavares High School, where I was on the golf and tennis teams. I started dual-enrolling at Lake-Sumter Community College as a junior in high school, and graduated with my A.A. degree in 2008.

My mom, Christi, is a UF grad and recently started her own magazine in Orlando. She's always been a great role model for me and inspired me to go into journalism. My dad, Robert, is currently retired, but has done anything and everything from the PGA Tour to owning a Kawasaki shop. He inspired me to take up golf. I have a 23-year-old brother, Nick, who is currently majoring in sports and fitness at the University of Central Florida.

One of my best friends is my boyfriend, Mike. We started dating as juniors in high school and have been together over four years. I think we bring out the best in each other. He is currently majoring in elementary education at UCF. My other best friend is my roommate, Becky Schneider. Becky and I have been friends since third grade, and we were so excited to go to UF together. She is a general business major.
