LOVING THE MUSIC:
A GOAL IN LIFE:
Now I would like to talk about the inspiration that drove me to become a journalist.
My mother had a friend who was deeply and passionately involved in the protection of endangered species. One day she came across two poachers who were killing leatherback turtles as they crawled up onto the beach at night to lay eggs. Turtle meat in Tobago is rare and thus drives many a man to the brink of insanity, just to catch such a creature. Unfortunately because there was no documentation of such findings and the poachers almost always got off the hook, no one 'important' knew about the killings. And if those higher end officials did get word, many were paid not to reveal any queries or documentation to the EPA (Environmental Protection Association) about the regular massacre occurrences. That effort to withhold information got me so upset. And then I realized that I would have to be one of those lucky few who tried to find the reasons and the motives behind every action. But in an interesting way. Hence, the ever popular media.
I can't wait to dig into civilization's mysteries and secrets. The thrill begins.
