You're seeing stars!

Profiled here are some of my favorite film stars: Jack Nicholson, Victoria Abril, and the guys from Monty Python.

Jack Nicholson

A major Hollywood star since the Seventies, Jack Nicholson's career is still going strong with a recent Best Actor Oscar for As Good As It Gets. Much of his best work was in the Seventies, with classic performances in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, The Last Detail, and Chinatown. His most successful film ever, in terms of money made, was Batman in 1989.

Victoria Abril

This Spanish leading lady has starred in over sixty films since the Seventies, including Átame!, Gazon Maudit, and Tacones Lejanos. She won Best Actress at the Berlin International Film Festival for Best Actress in 1990 for her work in Amantes. She also won international awards in 1995 for her role in Nadie Hablará de Nosotras Cuando Hayamos Muerto.

Monty Python

This comedy troupe consists of five Brits (John Cleese, Eric Idle, Graham Chapman, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin) and one American (Terry Gilliam). While they have done little in recent years, their old comedy work (Life of Brian, Meaning of Life, the Flying Circus TV show) is classic and holds up well through repeat viewings.
