I'm one of a dying breed: a native Floridian, replete with a solid cracker background. Born in Lakeland and raised in Dade City, later moving to Bradenton as my dad went from working for one orange juice producer (Lykes-Pasco) to another (Tropicana).
As a 24-year-old graduate student in journalism at the University of Florida in Gainesville, I'm in the midst of trying to embark on a thesis -- something on foreign correspondents and how their work with their editors. My goal is to become a foreign correspondent.
I ended up here after studying a variety of semi-useless liberal arts subjects like English and psychology and history at Flagler College in St. Augustine, Fla.
After that, I satisfied my dandy-ish filppancy by living in Paris for a year, studying French language and culture at the Sorbonne (that's me feigning diligence in my Parisian chambre-and no I don't expect you to make out my reclusive self in this photo).
The things I like...golf, newspapers and literature, good writing and wit, a nice bordeaux with chevre and a bonafide baguette, music of all sorts, good art exhibitions, a dash of fun, spontenaiety. If you wish to know more, then please proceed....
