This is my first attempt at constructing a web page, so I am quite proud of myself. This might not be the most exciting web page you have ever visited, but oh well. I like it. If you don't, there is a little link at the bottom of this page where you can tell me about it.
A little bit about me
I have lived in Alachua County all my life. I am actually from the small town of Alachua, about 20 miles north of Gainesville. Do you know what the word "Alachua" actually means? Well, legend has that it's an Indian word that means "no bottom." There are a lot of sinkholes in this area, and to prove it, there is an old tale involving a farmer and the bucket he used to feed his farm animals. One day the bucket was washed away and was found the next day on the other side of the county. It had his name on it, so everyone assumed the bucket had traveled that fast in an underground stream, meaning the land around here really doesn't have a bottom. Just an interesting fact you can toss around at cocktail parties. On a more serious note, I am a graduate student in Mass Communication at the University of Florida. I was also an undergraduate at U.F., so when I graduate for the second time in May 2000, I will be ready to see the rest of the world. I don't know where I will end up, but one day I would like to go back to school once more and earn my PhD. I know, I am a nerd! But I do know how to have fun. I work hard, and I play hard. For evidence of that, visit the links to my life listed below. Enjoy!
