Facts are simple and facts are straight
Facts are lazy and facts are late
Facts all come with points of view
Facts don't do what I want them to...

Work, for me, has changed significantly over the past year. Going back to grad school made me re-examine several aspects of all those years of working at major metro dailies.

I definitely miss many aspects of the job: covering the Boston music scene, the ridiculous perks, the late nights, the crateloads of free stuff. The high cost of living, however, is a serious reason not to ever live in the Hub. (The Hub, for those who haven't been exposed to that particular expression of Yankee superiority complex, refers back to the heady Edwardian days when Boston was termed the "hub of the Universe." I think Oliver Wendell Holmes said it, but I'm not sure. Flog me with a cod if I'm wrong.)

This page will contain links to some of my favorite journalism sites, including a monster compendium of links that I got from John Ullmann, a founding member of Investigative Reporters and Editors.
