About Paquito

My family adopted our pet dog, Paquito, from the Humane Society of Broward County which had very little information about his breed or age. By his teeth, his veterinarian has estimated that he is currently a five or six year old Shih-Tzu/Lhasa Apso mix.

When we first took Paquito home, his hair was long, dirty and matted. After rushing him into the bathtub for a thorough cleaning, he was very calm and responded to his new name very well. This all changed within a week of getting accustomed to our home and family. Even though he is a small breed, we've been living with his big personality for about three years now!

Paquito's Trip

Paquito doesn't go out much because he isn't very social with other dogs. When he does go on a trip, it's either to the veterinarian, or his favorite, the groomer! Paquito actually loves getting all the attention from the workers and acts extra loveable as soon as he comes home, looking and smelling his best. This photo is from one of his latest trips to the groomers.

Paquito's Hobbies

Paquito loves to take naps on the couch, but when he is awake, he enjoys chasing after and barking at birds. He even enjoys surfing the web as much as I do! The candid video to the right was taken with footage from a year ago. It was recorded on my laptop when Paquito was sitting in my lap as my younger cousin and I surfed the web.

Paquito & Cristina

One of my favorite things to do when I visit home is lay on the couch and relax with Paquito. I feel a great bond with him because he is a lot like me. We're both short, but when we get comfortable in a new environment, we are loud and rambunctious.
