Katherine Kallergis was born on April 15, 1992. She grew up in Miami, Fla., and is of Greek and Albanian descent. Culturally, she was raised with a combination of Hispanic and Greek influence. As a result, she speaks fluent Spanish and has Greek-danced since she was 10.

Katherine loves to cook, spend time with her family and friends, and travel. She spends her summers at home exploring and eating her way around the city of Miami. Inspired by her mother, a French-trained chef, she interned at Michael's Genuine Food and Drink as a prep cook during the summer of her sophomore year in high school. She decided to pursue food journalism, and in her senior year became editor-in-chief of her high school yearbook, Tsunami.

She now attends the University of Florida as a sophomore journalism major with a minor in food science. She is a Journalism and Communications Ambassador, a group that represents the college at events, gives tours, proctors exams, and runs a mentorship program and tutoring lab. Her work has been published in the Independent Florida Alligator. This is her first website.
