About Me

My name is Todd Holmes, and I am a second year Ph.D. student in Mass Communications at the University of Florida. I am a fun-loving, easygoing guy. I'm well-rounded, and I'm willing to try my hand at almost anything. In high school, I was voted "Most Social" in my class. These days, I'm the one friends call when cars break down or when they just want a few laughs.

At the University of Florida, I mentor, provide professional advice, and teach telecommunications students about what it takes to work in broadcast management, production, and news. Also, I'm an officer in the Graduate Students in Mass Communications Association and am excited about the opportunity to serve my fellow graduate students. As far as research is concerned, I'm interested in how broadcasters implement and monetize new technologies as well as the social and psychological factors which drive a person's use of social media.

I was born in Texas, but I spent my formative years in a suburban community just outside of Harrisburg, PA. I moved to Florida in 1999 after working in the Washington D.C. area for four years.
