A Vacation to Cherish

Three summers ago, my mother, my sister and I journeyed to Paradise Island, in the Bahamas.
Airplane View of The Bahamas As our plane began its descent onto the island, the view of the crystal clear water was breathtaking. We were immediately greeted with such warm, smiling faces, that we felt immediately at ease.
The streets are lined with vibrant, colorful storefronts and unique artwork. Even the graffiti was beautiful.

Delicious Cuisine

Our first stop on the island was to fuel up on local delicacies.
We wanted the most authentic experience possible, so our cab driver recommended a local market. Everything on the menu looked delectable, but we decided on conch fritters as an appetizer. New Friend at the Atlantis Aquarium This was my first time eating conch, and it was an absolutely transcendent experience.
The crispy dough surrounding the conch was fried to perfection. The meat was tender and tasted unbelievably good with the dipping sauce.
I could not imagine a better way to start off a vacation.
The rest of our meals were equally as fabulous, including fresh sashimi at Nobu inside the Atlantis resort.

Unparalleled Experiences

Our hotel allowed us access to the Atlantis Resort's massive water park. The rides were so creative; I had never seen anything like them.
One slide was a ninety-degree plunge straight into a pool. I'll never forget the butterflies in my stomach as I stepped out onto the ledge.
Another ride was a cascading slide into an enormous and gorgeous lagoon that contained an aquarium.
The resort also offered the chance to swim with dolphins. My sister and I donned wet suits as we pet, fed, and kissed Barry the dolphin.
My mother is an avid art lover, and her reaction to seeing the hotel's larger than life Chihuly glass sculpture was unforgettable.
The creatures we saw in the island's numerous aquariums almost seemed mythical. It was truly an amazing vacation.
