Reading in the library

Whether it is a textbook or novel, I always feel comfortable with a book in my hand. Even though many best-seller books are made into movies, it is better to read the original books. Good books release our minds to imagine a new world with colorful characters or insightful thoughts.

Here are the top five books on my favorite list:

  • Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
  • The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown
  • Dream of the Red Chamber by Xueqin Cao
  • Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer
  • Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll
Chinese calligraphy in my room

Chinese Calligraphy

Chinese calligraphy is a kind of art from the ancient China with a history of five thousand years and is still very popular in the modern world. It is like painting with Chinese characters to express the inner world of artists. I have practiced Chinese calligraphy since I was a kid. It brings me inner peace.

Things we need to write Chinese calligraphy include:

  • Bamboo brushes: can be big or small, stiff or soft
  • Paper: Xuan paper is the best
  • Ink stick: check its color and sound
  • Ink stone: the stone should be hard and smooth
Dancing on the stage

Dancing is a form of art to communicate through movements of body. To me, it is a good way to do exercise with energetic music. It is my routine to dance every Wednesday and Thursday afternoon to keep fit. I enjoy watching ballet, tango, and hip-pop dance.

There are some shows featuring talented dancers on the television:

  • So You Think You Can Dance
  • Dancing Crew
  • Dancing with the Stars
  • Strictly Come Dancing
