As a journalism major, I'm told again and again that experience is what matters most. Thankfully, I have some diverse experiences under my belt. I still don't know what I actually want to do with my life, but this page may give an idea of some of my skills and interests.

My first internship was at the University Press of Florida, a local publishing house in Gainesville, Fla. I wrote press releases and learned the inner-workings of the publishing industry. Following that, I was lucky enough to earn an internship in New York City at the Women's Media Center. At this office, I did everything from organizing binders to attending documentary premieres. My dream internship? I would love to help out at NPR, This American Life or the New York Times (the bible).

Writing experience

I've written for The Independent Florida Alligator, INsite Magazine and The Stuart News. I've also blogged for The Alligator and am currently a blogger for the website Hollaback!, an awesome organization I volunteered for this summer.

Leadership roles

Along with journalism experience, I also enjoy being involved in organizations at UF. I am currently an executive director in the newly-formed Women's Student Association and am in charge of organizing Women's History Month.
