My name is David Tintner, and I am a third-year journalism student at the University of Florida. I was born and raised in Cooper City, Fla. and graduated from Cooper City High School in 2008.

It seems like yesterday I was a freshman moving into my dorm room, but those days are long past. Graduation and life outside of the college bubble are creeping up on me. I don’t know what I would like to do after college, but I do know that I am going to do something I love. In my short collegiate career I have learned one thing above all else: it’s important to seize every opportunity and live every day to its fullest.

This summer I decided to backpack around Western Europe and get my first taste of life across the pond. I loved traveling so much that I was planning my next trip before my plane even landed.

I think traveling is an invaluable experience. Meeting new people and experiencing different cultures inspires tolerance and understanding of our differences. I believe traveling is the foundation to building a peaceful world.

Unfortunately, getting the opportunity to travel can be difficult. We often let money, time, or resources stand in the way of us getting out there and seeing the world. I hope I inspire you to travel and give you a few valuable tips on how to make it happen.
