Work Experience

I have had the privilege of working in a number of great places in the past few years. Most recently I have worked at the South Florida Science Museum as a Marketing and Public Relations intern. During the months of June and July 2010, I worked closely with the Director of Marketing, the Director of Development and the Event Coordinator in planning events, organizing and adding information to membership databases, composing and faxing letters and completing other office duties.

Last summer I also worked as a reporter at the Lake Worth Herald and Coastal Observer Newspapers. I covered local issues like sea wall repairs and the Lantana Bridge closing, reported on Lantana Town Council meetings and captured photos at local events. This was my second summer working at the Herald. I have come to know and respect the editor Pat Parrish and another reporter Frances Goodman, who have given me advice and have respected my opinion as a budding journalist.

During the summer of 2009, I was an intern at the Lake Worth Herald and Coastal Observer Newspapers. My writing and reporting skills greatly improved under Pat Parrish's guidance. I began the summer rewriting press releases and ended the summer with articles on the front page. I will always be grateful for my experience working at the Herald.

Before working for a newspaper, I was a receptionist at Citrus Title. I answered phones, filed papers, made trips to the courthouse and composed and sent letters. These tasks have helped me become more organized. I also often had to deal with clients, which, at times, was draining, but helped me in the long run to develop personal skills.
