I love to dance...

I have done all of these types of dance:

Contemporary Ballet:

Contemporary Ballet is, by far my favorite style of dance. It can be passionate and moving, or spastic and funny. My senior year of high school, I did a contemporary piece to "We all Live in a Yellow Submarine" by the beatles, and it was so much fun. We wore long-sleeved, turtleneck leotards and black tights to look like we were in wetsuits, but on top of them we wore different colored classical ballet tutus. We looked wonderful. I loved that dance

Me goofing off backstage at my senior recital. I wore the black tutu, so I looked a bit like a spider.

Aerial Ballet:

If you've ever seen Cirque du Soleil's "La Nouba," you've seen aerial ballet. The silks are the most common form of aerial ballet. Dancers climb up reams of silk suspended from the ceiling and performs all different types of acrobatic feats up in the air. It is quite possibly the coolest thing I have ever done, but it is also the physically hardest thing I have ever done.

I love arts and crafts...

I have been crafty my whole life. I love to draw, paint, make stuff with play-dough, glue things, stick things, you name it, I love it. My senior year I won 2nd place in my school's sidewalk art competition. I used a quote from Mr. Jones by the Counting Crows as my inspiration.

Here's my 6' x 8' masterpiece... to this day I wish I could have saved it.

Also, I served as the Banner chair for my sorority, and I've painted quite a few banners in my day. We hang banners on our house to advertise for philanthropies, or show our support for another chapter's philanthropy. These two banners are HUGE, and they took so long to paint, but it was worth it.

This banner is from Sigma Chi's derby days. My sorority did a Harry Potter themed skit, so my friend Rachael and I decided to paint Hogwarts. 12 hours later, we had this, and it was 7 a.m. the day of the event...

This is the banner I painted to welcome our new pledge class. It goes from the ground to the roof of our two-story house. It was a beast to paint!
