Just a little bit about me...

The Swamp on Gameday

I am currently a Journalism major at the University of Florida. Go Gators! I am a Journalism and Business major, and I am actively involved around campus. I am from Palm city, Florida, a small city just a little north of West Palm Beach.

I am very involved in my sorority, Delta Gamma, and I was this years director of our annual philantrhopy Anchor Splash, benefitting the Service for Sight Foundation. It's a really fun event for fraternity men to compete in and also for a great cause. I am also involved in Gator Growl on UF's campus. Gator Growl is the largest student-run pep rally in the country. Pretty impressive I'd say. Last year I worked as a staff member on the marketing team, and this year I had the opportunity to be an assistant director for the advertising team. Gator Growl is an event that the whole university is so proud of. It's a time for alumni and current students to unite and "Let the Gator Growl!"Gator Growl

Although journalism is my first love, I'm also very intereted in politics. I believe politics is a field that is very underminded and most college students unfortunately know nothing about. Last summer I had the opportunity to work on a congressional campaign for Tom Rooney of Florida's District 16. It was such an awesome opportunity to work with real politicians and learn more about how our government works. This year I will be working with the "Gators for Crist" campaign at UF and educating my fellow students on the platform of Governor Charlie Crist throughout his run for the U.S. Senate.
