Experiences and Skills

Computer Skills—Thorough Knowledge of Microsoft Word 2007, Microsoft PowerPoint 2007, Microsoft Publisher 2007, and Microsoft Excel 2007. Computer processing courses completed in Microsoft applications at the University of Florida. Basic website coding and Photoshop applications completed at the University of Florida—all of which could lend to a more interactive and positive learning atmosphere.

Media Knowledge—Most courses taken in Mass Communication topics: Public Relations, Advertising, Telecommunication, Speech, Digital Media—a rounded view of a number of media industries.

Teaching Experience—Aided in the creation of course materials for an electronic writing course at the University of Florida (MMC2100)—experience in developing a media course.

Presentation Experience—Mass Communication Teaching course taken at the University of Florida—aiding in the understanding of teaching techniques, theories, and applications.

Planning—marketing positions allowed for the planning of both events and campaign procedures (for the University of Florida’s Reitz Union the most recent campaign was “R U Featured?” connecting students to Reitz Union events via social networking sites).

Communication—as part of the Estates team, working along side a number of college students allowed for the understanding of the college-age market and the opportunity for communicating not only with the market but with the staff as well (guiding new staff members in office procedures, communicating property amenities to possible residents, advertising community events to current residents).

Deadline Oriented—With a background in telecommunications, meeting deadlines has always been a priority. This goes hand-in-hand with the high level of organizational skills acquired in past receptionist positions.

Researching and Exploring—having worked on a thesis project, I am comfortable researching media topics and explaining the interconnecting industries.
