My Travels

My Oma and I on top of Jungfraujoch in Interlaken, Switzerland. A rainbow over Honolulu, Oahu

I have been very fortunate to have had many opportunities to travel. My explorations first started the summer before I started high school. My Oma, or grandma in German, took me to Europe with her on a month-long vacation. We toured eight different countries, including Austria, the Czech Republic, Poland, Belarus, Russia, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, and spent some time with family in Munich, Germany. Travel has always been very important to my Oma, and she was excited to share her passion with me.

Additionally, I had the opportunity to explore Hawaii with my boyfriendís family over Christmas break last year. We spent a day on Oahu and then a week on the island of Maui. It was an amazing experience, and I loved the island spirit!

This summer my Oma again helped to provide me with amazing travel opportunities, enabling me to study abroad in Germany. Again we journeyed overseas together, spending nearly two weeks with family in Munich and going on many excursions. Afterwards, I made my way to Mannheim, where I spent six weeks studying. Mannheim is located on the Rhine near Heidelberg. Despite Mannheimís appeal, I traveled and spent the weekends in Interlaken, Prague, Berlin, Dresden, Leipzig. I also took at least one day trip a week, often to smaller cities in the vicinity of Mannheim.
