Who? Sarah Jones.

My name is Sarah Jones and I am a junior journalism major at the University of Florida in Gainesville.

I am originally from Palm Harbor on Florida's west coast. I come from a large, unconventional family complete with step parents, step brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, and a little brother. I am very fortunate to have most of my family living close to me here in Florida.

Currently, I am on staff at the Communigator, me UF's College of Journalism and Communications alumni magazine. I also work in the Florida Scholastic Press Association office in the College. I have been interning at the City of Gainesville Regional Transit System (RTS) since the summer of 2008, and I don't know what the next semester has in store for me.

In my "spare" time--something that I believe is only a myth--I read, spend time with my family and friends, hang out with my cat, Frankie, and my boyfriend, Carlos. My favorite way to spend my time, though, is traveling. My list of destinations I have explored grows a tiny bit every year and includes London, Paris, Berlin and Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.

In the next few months, I am aiming to do some more traveling and nab a journalism internship for the summer. By next fall I hope to be a part of the Florida FlyIns program at UF, an international journalism study-abroad program offered every fall.
