my favorite sandwich shop in florence.

Fratellini is the best sandwich place in Florence. For only four euros, you can get a delicious panino and a glass of wine.

It is literally a hole in the wall, but quite possibly the best food I ate while I was in Florence. The tuna is fantastic, as is anything with goat cheese.

my favorite gelato place.

gelateria dei neri.

Gelateria dei Neri has the best gelato in Florence! It is located right near Santa Croce. The gelato is so deliciously icy.

They let you try as many flavors as you want, and they top off your order with a waffle cone wafer.

It is a wonderful treat on a hot summer day in Italia!

replica statue of david in front of the palazzo vecchio.

You must visit the statue of David! It is fantastic. It's located in the Academia on the north side of the Duomo. It sits in a room with nothing other than the statue.

This is a picture of the replica that stands in the original location of David guarding the old palace of the Medici.

the belltower that stands next to the duomo.

You can climb the belltower next to the Duomo. It gives you an incredible view of the city along with a nice hike up 400 or more stairs.

The stairwell to the top is about one foot wide, maybe two in some places. It's definitely worth doing!

the bend in the uffizi museum.

The Uffizi is one of the most famous museums in Italy. Botticelli's "The Birth of Venus" resides there, as well as a number of works by Giotto and other famous artists.

It is definitely worth going, but plan for a whole day. The museum is huge!

the oldest bridge in italy, the ponte vecchio.

ponte vecchio.

The Ponte Vecchio is a beautiful sight and a landmark of Florence. When crossing the bridge, you will find tons of cute shops and restaurants.

The Vasari corridor, which sits over the bridge, connects the Uffizi to the Pitti Palace.
