Must See/Hear Music

"Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life."--Berthold Auerbach

Voodoo The Voodoo Music Experience is a must see when it comes to music. As a veteran of this New Orleans 3-day festival I strongly recommend music lovers to make time for this once a year event. The band featured in this picture is Paolo Nutini, a native of Scotland and a true talent for acoustic music. He may be more familiar to you as the guy who does the new puma commercial, whether you have heard of him or not you will positively enjoy this show because there are close to 300 band. If you can't find your fancy then your just plain crazy!

Gov'T MuleWarren Haynes of Government Mule / Allman brothers band is another must see. When it comes to bluesy riffs and soul scratching rhythm this group has it mastered. The southern rock feel is sure to get you feet tapping. The bast place to see these guys is probably the The Wanee Festival on the Swannee river in Florida. This 2-day music filled festival is sure to leave a mark in the soul of any music lover.

Derek TrucksDerek Trucks is what some people call a prodigy. He is quite possibly the worlds greatest slide guitar player. He is the son of Butch Trucks of The Allman Brothers Band and frequently plays with them at The Wanee Festival as well. I was lucky enough to see them for New years at the Tabernacle in Atlanta which is also another great venue with incredible sound.

Dr.John Dr. John is a native of New Orleans and is almost a shoe in for every Major musical event Louisiana has to offer. This local bluesman has captured the hearts of cajuns for many years. His ever-famous crowd pleaser Dr. Goat will impress the crowd with voodoo magic and his playing of an old goat jaw bone he rigged into some sort of harp. A definite must see.
