Victoria Rich

Garnet and gold surrounded me as a child. I was born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida, home to the Florida State Seminoles, our state's capital and tons of rowdy sports fans. My name is Victoria Rich, and I am a junior at the University of Florida. I decided to leave Tallahassee when I was accepted into U.F. because I knew I wanted to pursue a degree in journalism and take the opportunity to live somewhere new. I am the first in my family to attend the university, and I'll probably never hear the end of it from family and friends who say I "chose the wrong school." I thought I would never be a Gator fan. However, I can now say with deep pride that I love the University of Florida, and every year when the 'Noles play the Gators, I will be decked out in orange and blue.

I am majoring in journalism and minoring in business administration and entrepreneurship. I was recently accepted into the Warrington College of Business' combined degree program for the fall of 2010 to study intergrated systems and operations management. This program offers students the opportunity to begin taking graduate level courses during their last year as an undergraduate. While all of my friends head off into the real world, I will stay at U.F. for one more year to finish the program and leave with a master's degree in business. After college I'm not completely sure what I'll do next. However, I've always been passionate about helping people and hope to start a nonprofit organization one day.
