Hello, my name is Lance Fuller and I am a senior journalism major at the University of Florida. This Web site contains my published works from The Independent Florida Alligator and The Gainesville Sun along with photos from my excursions to Western Europe and China.

My girlfriend Laurie and me.

My journey to Europe originated from a graduation present with my friends and younger brother where we backpacked and explored the continent on our own for about a month. We visited nine countries as we traveled along the Eurorail, and stayed in hostels. We spent on average four days in each country.

My excursion in China was much different. For three months during the summer of 2007, I went on a University of Florida sponsored study abroad to Beijing, China. I took 16 credits as I studied intermediate Chinese language and modern Chinese poetry and literature at Tsinghua University in Beijing. Throughout my three months in China, I did quite a lot of traveling as I spent many weekends in Shanghai, Xi'an, Qingdao, Shanhaiguan, Houhot Inner Mongolia, and Dandong on the North Korean border.

Some day I hope to travel to Africa, Australia and South America and hopefully visit Asia again.

My specialties in journalism pertain to magazine and feature writing, health and fitness writing, and travel writing. I am also learning more about online and multimedia, particularly writing blogs and shooting video.

I hope to one day write for a health and fitness magazine such as Men's Health or for a travel magazine. Aside from travelling, I enjoy working out, devouring ethnic food and spending time with my girlfriend and family. Enjoy the site, check out pictures of my journeys and feel free to e-mail me.
