"If any man is in Christ, he is a new creation."
-2 Corinthians 5:17-
A beautiful girl with wisdom seeping through her pores once told me that those who are lost must be found, and those who have been found must be sent. I didn't quite understand what she meant until I had given those words a heart beat. I was once someone who merely existed on this planet. I would go through life doing enough to just get by. I didn't care for others outside of those I already knew, and my purpose in life was to just make enough money to support myself.I was lost.
Somewhere along the path in my journey through life, God called me home. I was walking through life with a shield pulled over my eyes and at my lowest point in life He pulled it off of me. I felt as though I was living in a shadow of darkness for so long, and after a life changing revelation there was a new joy that had consumed my soul forever. I have a peace within my being that can not be explained, there are no words that would ever be able to describe the calm that overwhelms my spirit. There is a joy that yearns to leap out of me and onto everyone that I come in contact with. My existence has a new foundation in this peace and joy that I long to share with others. I am found.
Every opportunity that presents itself for me to able to share a part of my joy and peace with others, I grab onto it until my fingers have been pried off. Traveling to Immokalee, FL on a mission trip with the First Assembly of God of Gainesville, FL was one of those opportunities. It was an experience that changed my life forever.
I knew it was a glimpse of my mission in life, and that is to actively go out and share my peace and joy with those who don't have access to it. Many times no words were shared, but our presence in that town let others know that we were there to share a message that would change someone's life forever. We spent the entire time evangelizing and prayer walking through the town. I have been sent.
