In The Beginning
I was born on May 15, 1982, in Tallahassee, Florida. When I was four years old, my family moved to little town called Ft. Myers on the west coast of Florida. Thatís where I grew up. Every day was a beach day in Ft. Myers, and I spent most of my childhood covered in sand and salt.
Even though I lived in paradise, I can remember always wanting to run away and see the world. By the time I was a teenager, I had become absolutely restless. I couldnít wait to graduate from high school and be out on my own.
The College Years
My chance to break free finally came in 2000. I went away to college at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. Orlando is a much larger than Ft. Myers, and I was thrilled to be there. I decided to major in advertising and public relations because Iím very creative and love to write.
I became a cheerleader for UCF my freshman year. It was one of the best times in my life. I had a blast cheering for the drunken students at football games, and my squad placed second in the nation at competitions in 2001 and 2002.
I graduated from UCF in December of 2003. Even though I had my diploma, I didnít feel like I was completely done with school. I looked for a job for a while, but, ultimately, I decided to go to graduate school and get a masterís degree in journalism.
I was accepted to the University of Floridaís Mass Communications program and began my first semester in January of 2005. I love it in Gainesville, and I am really learning a lot at UF. When I finish my degree, I hope to write for a magazine.
The things I love most are books, a glass of good red wine and the beach. I am also really into art, movies and astrology. I get four horoscopes emailed to me every day. I love the idea that we are all connected to stars. I am a Taurus, which means I am stubborn, bossy and loyal.
