What I Do ...

Weightlifting was introduced to me in high school, when I was preparing for football. I instantly feel in love with weight training and started to enjoy it over football and the other sports. I had never heard of Olympic Weightlifting until my senior year, when I meet an Olympic coach. He told me if I would train with him, I would have an opportunity to compete at a high level. So I quit football and started lifting. It took me almost a full year to learn how to do the two Olympic lifts correctly. The two lifts are the snatch and the clean and jerk. During a competition each lifter is allowed three attempts on each lift, and the lifter who lifts the most weight wins.
