Getting the Job: Interviews

Some employer's will require in-person interviews. Others will be content to just interview you over the phone. Regardless of how the interview takes place, a good rule of thumb is: You can never be too prepared! Do your research on the agency. Think about potential questions and prepare answers ahead of time.

If you are interviewing in person, be prepared to pay for your own flight. A good idea is to arrange all your interviews for one or two days, avoiding multiple flights to New York. I flew up and back in one day over my spring break. A quick trip, but I saved money by not staying overnight.

The day after your interview, be sure to send a thank-you note to the interviewer. This will keep your resume and interview in the mind of the employer. After that, keep your fingers crossed!
