My Bio

I came into this world on March 11, 1979 in New York City. As a child I was fascinated with the communication world. My mother once told me that I started watching soap-operas at the age of five. That explains why I spend my high school years in drama classes. My dream is to watch a Broadway show, but every time I go to New York I get caught up with family and friends. I have been truly blessed with a wonderful family. I could not imagine my life without them. It has always been the five of us, mom, dad, my brother Carlos and my grandma. When I was eleven we drove twenty eight hours to Miami. Little did we know there was no turning back! We had fell in love with the palm trees and the hot summer days. Soon we were packing our bags and heading to Miami where we have lived since then. Despite the changes adolescents go through high school, I have always been a focused and self motivated individual. I transferred to the University of Florida from a community college and obtained an Associates Degree in a year and a half. Today, I am a Senior at the University of Florida seeking a degree in Public Relations. As a soon to be Public Relations practitioner I am gaining the experience I need through school organizations like Public Relations Student Society of America. PRSSA serves a guidance tool and gives PR students the opportunity to explore different aspects of PR through profit and non-profit organizations. Originally I am working with Children's Home Society as an associate for child abuse prevention month coming up in April. Our goal is to create awareness in Alachua County and make a difference in the lives of local children.
