As I said before, I am 19. I grew up in Gainesville, so naturally the city and the school have always felt like home to me.
Both of my parents work at UF, so I pretty much knew my way around campus before most of my fellow classmates even knew what or where it was.
I have two younger brothers, Russell (16) and Evan (5). My parents, Rick and Terri, have both been University of Florida employees and loyal gator fans for over 20 years.
Though going to school in the same city as your parents certainly has its drawbacks, the education and atmosphere at UF are well worth it.
As for the future, I plan to take the LSAT sometime in the next year. I am crossing my fingers on getting in to the UF College of Law, but am also looking at some other schools just in case. For now, I'm hoping that Journalism is good preparatory major for Law and trying to learn as much as possible. I am a member of the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) and I'm also in the process of applying for an internship with the Alligator.
